Eight years old, mom's point and shoot, and that little macro button changed everything.

I didn't know what I was doing but I also didn’t need to. I just knew that when you got close enough, the world behind your subject dissolved into nothing and whatever you were pointing at suddenly mattered. That feeling grabbed me by the throat and never let go.

First DSLR paired with a Nifty fifty (50MM) Suddenly I could create that cinematic blur I'd been obsessing over for years, that creamy, dreamy compression that makes a photo feel like a secret. Spent my teenage years living in the digital world.

Then, as of recent (in my late 20’s early 30’s) my friend Jake handed me one of his film cameras and something cracked open.

Film doesn't care about your settings. It doesn't have a screen on the back to validate you. You shoot, you wait, you hope and when those scans come back, either you nailed it or you learned something. The grain, the latitude, the way a highlight rolls off instead of just clipping into white oblivion. It's unforgiving and alive in a new way

I have shot families, brands, events but I'm bringing the same manic curiosity I had at eight years old every single time.

Thanks for looking.
